We at Gunnedah Recyclit would like to thank Waste Initiatives for the honest advice and responsiveness in our engagement leading up to the purchase of the baler. The first thing that impressed me was your willingness to work with us to ensure the delivery and installation was as smooth as it could be. The H400-38T Horizontal Baler has proven reliable, safe & user-friendly and consistently produces excellent bale densities. We have no hesitation in recommending Waste Initiatives to any prospective buyer. We will be engaging Waste Initiatives for our next purchase.
Challenge
Gunnedah Workshop Enterprises “Recyclit” division operate a Commingled Material Recycling Facility (MRF) in the NSW regional town of Gunnedah.
With the long transport distances to ports and metropolitan processors, Recyclit depend heavily on the performance of their container baler to maintain the viability of recycling their PET, HDPE and Aluminium separated in the MRF operation.
In 2020, it was established that the deteriorating baler on site was reaching a point of critical failure and the ongoing cost of maintenance was increasing. It was time for an upgrade.
Solution
When approaching the market for proposals to replace the failing container baler, their site manager received a recommendation to engage Waste Initiatives as the market leader in this field.
After a comprehensive assessment of the site layout, feed method and performance requirements, the WastePac HX400-38T Horizontal Baler was selected as the best suited machine.
Waste Initiatives had to consider the existing triple hopper infeed system – a challenge to fit in with the vertical closed-door mechanism. Our installation technicians safely ensured this was managed without incident, resulting in a successful installation – on time and on budget.
